Transporting Your Wine With Style

Posted by Scott on 12/27/2013 to Aerating Wine
The next time you bring wine to a party or picnic, transport it in style with a wine carrier that keeps it at the perfect temperature. Do not carry your wine in a paper bag; instead, put white wines in an ice carrier and red wines in a basic insulated wine carrier to ensure they all arrive ready to go.

When you transport wines in a brown paper bag, there is nothing to protect your wines from the outside air and your body heat. You hold the bag either around the wine bottle's handle or put your hands around the widest part of the bottle, which warms up the wine as you travel. This spoils the flavor of many wines, especially white and sparkling wines that need to retain their chill.

A stylish wine carrier comes with handles so that your hands transport the carrier without touching the bottle. Each carrier is designed for a single bottle, preventing your wine bottles from bumping up against each other and potentially cracking as you travel.

Most importantly, wine carriers keep wine at the perfect temperature for serving. Instead of arriving at a party and asking your host to put your white or sparkling wine in the refrigerator, use an ice carrier to arrive ready to pour and share. Red wines are less temperature sensitive but also benefit from temperature-controlled, insulated travel.

Show off your sense of style and your appreciation of good wine by arriving to your next event with your wine tucked into a wine carrier. You keep your wines safe and secure while making sure that they stay at the perfect temperature for serving. Use these carriers every time you need to travel with wine.
