How to Choose A Wine Rack

Posted by Carlos on 7/31/2013 to Cool Wine Accessories
If you're planning on purchasing a new wine rack, either for yourself or as a gift, there are a number of different aspects of the wine rack you should consider first. Right off the bat, you should have a good idea where in your home the wine rack will be displayed. Will it be a floor standing wine rack unit, or a countertop wine rack? Maybe, if space is really tight, a wall-mounted or hanging wine rack? Next, consider the size. Not just the number of bottles your new wine rack will hold, but the overall size of the entire wine rack. You can find wine racks that hold just a couple of bottles, and you can also find gargantuan wine racks that hold and store over 100 bottles at a time.

Next, consider the style. Not just of the wine rack itself, but the room the wine rack will be placed in. Are there primary shapes or colors that you need to match up with, or at least not clash against? How about materials? There are a wide range of wood or metal wine racks, so if you have other furnishings or decorative items that feature wooden or metal designs, you can pare your list down accordingly. Consider patterns and textures as well, and then choose a wine rack that will complement the room, instead of look totally out of place. One helpful hint is to take a quick picture on your smartphone of the area the wine rack will be used. Then, as you look at different wine racks, you can easily picture what each wine rack will look in that spot. With just a little pre-planning, you can rest assured that you'll be able to pick the perfect wine rack for your home.
